We Are Creative 1

Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak

We are all creative in different ways. Our brains work to solve a problem or see something differently.  We might demonstrate this with words, drawings or just the way we answer a question!  Because we think differently, working together and being creative can help us solve problems quickly.

Our creativity helps us do new things – a great way to learn.

Today we are going to be creative with words and write a Haiku!

Watch this film clip to learn how to do this:

Now write a haiku – either as a class or in small groups on the topic of your choice. Here are some topic suggestions if you are stuck:

  • Reflections on the year
  • Summer holidays
  • Activities Week
  • Favourite lesson
  • Friendship
  • Faith
  • Joy

How did your brain feel as you tried to do this?  Well done on being creative!

God has made us to be creative people.  He wants us to use our creativity to solve problems and make the world a better place.  Can you think of some of the big challenges facing our world that need a creative solution to fix?  How about perhaps some issues in school, maybe in friendship groups?  Could you be creative and solve these too?

Take some time now to reflect on these and then we will pray.

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us creative minds.  Help us to use them to make our world a better place.  To find solutions to climate change and bring peace to troubled places.  Help us to work for the good of our fellow humans and try our best to solve problems using all the skills that you have given us.  Amen
