Travel And Parking Information
Please note that our Sixth Form Centre is approximately 100 metres from our main school building with a front entrance facing on to Redcliff Hill. It does not have on-site parking facilities for students and parents/carers. Please refer to the travel and parking guidance information below for further details. Any visitors who have mobility problems are advised to contact the Sixth Form Centre before visiting so that appropriate parking arrangements can be made.
By Car
The entrance to the main School is from Somerset Square. This is a one way street. Those driving to the School using a SatNav system should note that the School postcode (BS1 6RT) will take them to the rear of the school with no public access. Postcode BS1 6PG will direct drivers to Somerset Square and the main entrance to the School.
Parking
Please note that the main School does not have on-site parking facilities for students and parents/carers. Disabled drivers can be accommodated on site with notice. Please contact our receptionists on 0117 377 2100 for details. There is a ramp to the Visitors entrance which is accessed across the bridge from Somerset Square, and a lift to all floors in the Main and Temple Colston building is available.
The area surrounding the School and Sixth Form is subject to a residents’ parking scheme. As a result Somerset Square and Somerset Street are resident parking only, and you will need a permit to park in these places. There is limited pay and display parking available in Prewett Street, Guinea Street and Ship Lane, which is shared with residents, and is pay and display only until 7.00pm. You can park for up to 15 minutes free of charge in the pay and display bays. Longer periods of pay and display parking cost £1 per hour up to a maximum of 3 hours.
There are public car parks nearby in Portwall Lane (opposite St Mary Redcliffe Church) and on Cumberland Road, near the old General Hospital site, providing longer term parking.
By Train
Bristol Temple Meads station is only a 10 minute walk (cross Temple Gate and turn right. Turn left into Redcliff Mead. Take the second left into Somerset Square or continue along Prewett Street to the Sixth Form building).
By Bus
There are good bus services to the area – routes 24/25, 52, 75/76, and 89/90 all stop on nearby Redcliff Hill (BS1 6RB). Other routes stop at Temple Quay and Lewins Mead, in the Centre, which is only a short walk away across Queen Square, or outside Bristol Temple Meads station. A route planner map has been produced and is available to download here.
Access to the main School Visitor Reception is up the steps or ramp from Somerset Square.
