Supporting your Child

As your child navigates secondary school there will be times when they may need support. On this page you will find some helpful links, and we have provided further links to external services and organisations offering support on our Parent Links page.

Any questions or concerns you may have about your child should be communicated to their tutor who will either help you directly or point you in the direction of the best person to speak to. You can email their tutor by using the Contact form. Do not worry if you are unsure of the tutor’s name – we will be able to help you.

Safe Boundaries

We want all of our students to feel safe in school, to value themselves and each other in all that they do. If you are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of your child please click here for more information about our safeguarding team and how to contact them.

Sometimes children can find themselves struggling to cope. We have a lot of mental health support. Here is a link to further information on how we support mental wellbeing at SMRT.

Good Relationships

Developing good relationships throughout our community is essential. We value justice and respect and want to ensure that our young people can learn from mistakes. One of our alive values is, ‘We value Forgiveness’ and we endeavour to help them find a way back from challenging situations. Our Behaviour and Good Relationships Policy on our Policies page outlines how we ensure that this happens.

Bullying is something that we take very seriously as a school. If your child is being bullied, please let us know immediately by contacting us.

Empowered Learning

Our curriculum is designed to provide our students with skills, knowledge and alive values enabling them to make their unique contribution to the world. To find out more about what is taught in each subject and how assessment works. Please follow this link.

If you have any queries about homework here is a page with more information.

Alive Accord

This is the SMRT version of the Home School Agreement.  It’s called this to remind us all the shared values that have guided the school for such a long time. It can be found here.

Paying for Meals and Trips

You can pay for your child’s meals and any school trips and events using ScoPay our online cashless system. Visit here for more information.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer financial support to those who request it through our Enabling Fund. More details can be found here.
