We Value Diversity and Choice 1
Weekly Worship from Mrs Duzniak
We are starting with a game! In pairs or threes nominate a ‘chooser’ and a ‘guesser’. The chooser will choose between the 2 options listed below. The guesser must guess which they picked. You can then discuss whether you agree with the choice or not!
- Chocolate or Strawberry
- Saturday or Sunday
- Xbox or Playstation
- Minecraft or Fortnite
- Football or Basketball
- Dominoes or KFC
- YouTube or Netflix
Our ALIVE value this week is, ‘We value diversity and choice’. This can be interpreted in so many ways, but today we will think about what it means to value diversity and choice without becoming divided!
Did you watch the Paralympics over the last few weeks? Here is a short film that reminds you of some of the athletes who competed for Team GB.
Although the Paralympics were very different to the Olympics, they were also very similar. It was a real celebration of valuing diversity and choice.
Truly valuing diversity and choice involves thinking about the world through the eyes of someone who is different to you, then doing all you can to make it fair for them. It is about celebrating our differences and realising that this makes us a stronger community.
Watch this reflection about diversity and think about how we can celebrate our differences as a school community.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
We want to celebrate our differences. Thank you that we are not all the same, and it is our uniqueness that makes us strong. Help us to celebrate the differences we represent and learn to live together in harmony. Amen
