Our ALIVE value this week is We value Faith. Here is a Bible verse about what faith means:
‘Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.’– Hebrews 11:1
Whether you are a Christian or not, you will have faith! Here are some ways that you may have faith. How can you show that they are having faith based on the Bible quote above?
- Faith in a relationship and how someone feels about you
- Faith in a bus turning up on time!
- Faith that you will one day get a job in a career that you will enjoy
- Faith in God
- Faith in the power of prayer
- Faith in yourself
Can you think of any other areas where you might have faith? Have a discussion about this as a class.
Sometimes it can be hard to have faith or hope in what can seem like an impossible situation. Take a moment now to think of a situation in your life where you need to have faith. It might be linked to learning in school or maybe something else. As you watch this video, give your concerns to God and allow your faith to grow:
Prayer,
Dear God, we value faith which means we believe in hope even when we cannot always see a way through. Thank you that you are a God of Hope and someone that we can trust. Help us to trust you and believe that you have our best interests at heart. Help us to have faith and see the small signs that show you are working. Help us to be a positive influence on our friends if they are finding it hard to have faith. Amen
