We’re going to continue thinking about our ALIVE Value, ‘We Value Justice and Respect.’

Last week, we explored what the Bible says about justice. We shared that God stands for justice and that this is God’s requirement for us also.

Why do you think justice matters so much to God?

What is this justice? It’s treating others or fighting for the treatment of others, in view that each of us is made in the image of God, dearly loved and of incredible value.

Our world has dreadfully failed time and time again to do this. We can’t let this be the future. There is hurt, suffering and pain in this world that we shouldn’t just notice but go as far to act in response. 

There is a powerful bible verse, where we see God tell off his people for failing to have justice for others. This is what he says:

The Lord says, “I hate your religious festivals; I cannot stand them! … Stop your noisy songs; I do not want to listen to your harps. Instead, let justice flow like a stream, and righteousness like a river that never goes dry.

God wants to see justice and goodness flow like a river that never runs out.

This morning, I want you to think on how you can stand for justice, live for justice and fight for justice.

So, using the definition of justice above, create a brainstorm together of where you can live for justice. In our school, in our wider communities and in our world.

A life of justice is bold, active & resilient. It doesn’t require you to change the world in a day, but to asks us to try and change someone’s world, as much as we can, each day.
