Weekly Worship from Chaplain Josh

Can you name one or two things that you learnt about in 2024? It could be from a subject, hobby or interest.

Last year I encouraged you all to explore something new throughout the year. This year, I want to encourage you to do the same.

Many people spend hours learning about science, languages, history, sport, culture and more. Research isn’t just a method, but is something creative. We can use our ALIVE Value of ‘researching’ to discover so many great and inspiring things.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, there is a great verse of wisdom that I encourage you to learn from.

And I set my mind to seek and explore by wisdom concerning all that has been done under heaven.Ecclesiastes 1:13

This year, set your mind to seek and explore new things. Our world is full of mystery and knowledge, skills & talents waiting to be discovered.

Talk with those around you about what you hope to learn about, discover or explore this year.

Let’s pray to finish,

Dear God

Thank you that you made the world full of mystery and treasure.

Thank you that you encourage exploration and adventure.

May we seek to research and understand things that are beyond us,

Whilst acknowledging that we cannot know it all.

Thank you that you said those who seek you, will find you.

Amen.
