This week we reflect on our Alive Value, ‘We value Trust & Truth.’

Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey, was recently asked to give some advice to footballers who have faith. He shared a thought that had the simple message ‘Trust in God.’

I’ve seen many Instagram captions or comments on social media with the simple message, ‘Trust God.’ What does this mean? How can we trust God?

What Calvin Bassey was advising, and many others show, is that people trust God because of who they believe he is. His character, love & faithfulness have proved him to be trustworthy.

When the authors in the Bible say that God is “full of emet,” they are saying that he is trustworthy and faithful—they suggest we can trust him. They never say it’s an easy thing to do, but their story shows that we can trust.
