Religious Education Key Stage 4
Vision
Engaging all students with a diverse range of religious and non-religious worldviews to help us live together in today’s multi-cultural world.
Curriculum Overview
Sequencing, Setting and Support
In Year 10 and 11 we follow the Eduqas Route A specification. We study one unit from each exam paper alternately to ensure that we make applications between the different sections of the courses.
We teach mixed ability classes across Years 10 and 11 because all pupils will sit the same exam. Our classes will cover the content by providing a wide variety of tasks to enable pupils to engage with the content in a level appropriate to their needs. We work closely with LSAs and Learning Support to ensure that we provide resources that make sense of a curriculum that can sometimes seem to talk about very abstract concepts. This means that our SEND pupils are able to be supported in tasks that enable to engage them effectively. For pupils pushing to the top grades at GCSE, we will provide support and challenge based around looking to these top grades and looking towards A Level.

Homework and how Parents/Carers Support Learning
All homework is set on Bromcom which is an app and website available to students and parents/carers. Further information is available on our Homework page.
These are the principles which underpin our homework.
Homework in RE across Years 10 and 11 will make use of a range of the different homework principles outlined above. In Year 10 and 11, pupils may have more revise-and-retrieve tasks using the Seneca platform. This is to ensure a solid understanding of key concepts and key terms that will be essential for GCSE RE. As pupils progress through GCSE, there will be a wider range of practice papers and exam technique work.
When Seneca homework is set, you can support your child by checking which areas they have unlocked during their progress and what areas they feel confident in. If other types of homework such as practice questions are set, there will be a range of options to suit the needs of all learners, so you can support your child by helping them identify the homework that will provide the correct level of challenge for them at this stage.
